June update: what happened during BBJ Boost Weeks

June was dominated by one thing at the cash tables: BBJ Boost Weeks, which ran from 15 June to 30 June with $20,000 available through Bad Beat Jackpot action.
The idea was simple. The Bad Beat Jackpot normally needs aces full of deuces to be beaten before it pays. For two weeks, that bar came down — and it kept moving.
The trigger hand moved five times
The minimum qualifying hand for No-Limit Hold’em was adjusted daily during the promotion. Every change was published on the promotion page as it happened, and this is the complete log:
| When | Change |
|---|---|
| 16.6.2026 10:00 | AAA22 → KKKJJ |
| 18.6.2026 10:00 | KKKJJ → KKK99 |
| 19.6.2026 10:00 | KKK99 → KKK22 |
| 19.6.2026 23:39 | KKK22 → QQQTT |
| 23.6.2026 10:57 CET | QQQTT → AAA22 |
Read down that column and you can see the promotion working. The trigger dropped four times across the first week as the jackpot went unclaimed, reaching queens full of tens — a hand that turns up often enough to make every showdown interesting. Then on 23 June it went back to AAA22, the standard trigger.
Pot-Limit Omaha ran at AAATT and 5-card PLO at AAAKK for the duration.
What the format actually rewards
A lower trigger changes how a bad beat feels. At AAA22 you can play for months without seeing one. At QQQTT the jackpot stops being a lottery ticket and starts being a thing that might plausibly happen at your table tonight — and because the Bad Beat Jackpot pays the loser, the winner and everyone dealt into the hand, a hit is worth something to every seat.
Two conditions caught people out during the promotion, and they are worth repeating because they are permanent rules rather than promotional ones:
- Both of your hole cards must play. A hand where the board supplies most of the strength doesn’t qualify.
- The hand must reach showdown, with at least four players dealt in before the flop.
There is also a run-it-twice rule: only the first run of the community cards counts.
Boost Weeks have finished
The promotion ended on 30 June and the trigger is back at its standard level. The dates, the full trigger log and the prize pool structure are all recorded above.
The Bad Beat Jackpot itself runs continuously on all NLH, PLO and PLO5 tables, alongside the MonteCarlo progressive high hand jackpot on No-Limit Hold’em.
Boost Weeks have run before and the trigger schedule is published live whenever they return. If one matters to you, the promotions page is where it will show up.
